So I'm still on the hunt for some wheels and tires. My question is regarding curb rash. What would a shop do to cure it? Can it be cured? What's the process? I'd probably have them shot black as well.
Thanks Oppo. Here's my late contribution to Ford Friday.

I'd also like to know about curb rash repair.
But I really came to comment on the Mustang pic. I built a model of one almost exactly like that when I was a kid, and this brought back some very fond summer memories. Thanks!

I'm thinking a full refinishing would do the trick. Usually it involves grinding, sanding and then a complete repaint. If you are planning on a PC black then you can probably refinish them yourself as they are just going to be painted over again.

She wants $500. I might low ball her and I have a buddy with a shop that can do the work. He owes me so probably free.

Nice looking wheels! Tsw?
A buddy sounds great for that, Haha.
Try and offer $400 or something about equivalent to what "the cost" would have been.

What's the problem? Do the tires still hold air? As long as the rim isn't bent/damaged so much as to cause air to escape, it's fine.
My wheels are much worse than that and there's no problems.

Yes. They might be a little big. Worried about rubbing.

Tires are good. Wondering what one does to grind down the nasty bits and if it will still look ok after a respray.

You should probably be fine at regular ride height :)

good wheel repair welds new aluminum to the edge and then CNCs the edge back down to spec. Not cheap, but youd never know the rim ever had curb rash after its done.
Few shops even do this repair to begin with, so you need to ask around.

it can be done. Before I bought my car I made the dealership fix the curb rash on the wheels. I believe it's just sanding, body filler, more sanding, then paint. The shop that did mine did a good job, I can't tell
